The Sheehan DNA Project is for all who wish to work together to find their common heritage through DNA testing and sharing of information. Any male who believes their ancestral surname is Sheehan will be granted permission to join the project. All variant spellings of Sheehan are welcome. Males with surnames other than Sheehan whose Y-DNA tests have shown them to be a very close match to Sheehans in the project will also be welcome to join. These men will at minimum have done Y-67 testing. If you have known Sheehan ancestry which does not follow the paternal line to a submitted Y-DNA test kit, you can still request to join the project as an Autosomal member. Autosomal members will be asked to complete an FTDNA family tree showing how Sheehan fits into your ancestry. Other project participants are also encouraged to complete an FTDNA family tree.
