The Shively Y-DNA project was established in an effort to take advantage of the advances in science and give us data to prove the relationship between the Shively families. There are documented lines dating back to around 1750 in Lancaster Co, PA and Frederick Co, VA but there are many branches of the Shively families which cannot be connected because of missing records. As opportunities became available the families moved west and the largest concentration of Shively families records can be found in PA, OH and IN. Today Shively families can be found in almost all 50 states of this country. All male Shively's interested in our family history are encouraged to join this unique research opportunity.
