To determine how many genetic patrilines there are to the St. Johns throughout the world. The initial main focus was to determine the specific haplotypes and groups for the Colonial American descendants of Mathias St. John, aka Sension, and the descendants of the Deport family that assumed the name of St. John. We are also seeking other armigerous lines that were established in Wales and evolved out of Ireland.

We would also like to determine what the modal haplotype is for each group and establish where any non-paternal events ("NPE") may have occurred throughout these lines.
