DNA Results have tied together several St*rling families in the USA. St*rling families from the colonial mid-Atlantic states have matched descendants of William Sterling of Haverhill, Mass and James Stirling of Cornwall, CT. They all share the same Y-DNA. This family group is color coded blue in the results. It should be noted that there exists documentation of the William of Haverhill, Mass and James Stirling of Cornwall, Ct. lines.

Several members of our project have markers matching or very close to MacGregor of MacGregor. This is not surprising as we knew from history that many MacGregors took the St*rling name during the Proscription of the MacGregor name. The MacGregor results are color coded orange (Group H).
