The Swinfield DNA & Genealogy Group is for anyone who is now a Swinfield or who has had our surname in the past. From 1837 to 2021, only 983 Swinfields have been born in England and Wales. Most people of the name were born and still live in Leicestershire, England. There is also a branch of the family which originated in the adjacent county of Warwickshire. From there, two brothers emigrated to Australia in the middle of the 19th century where about 90 additional Swinfield children were born from 1848 to 1921. Their descendants live there today. However, there are probably only around 635 of us who have this surname throughout the World at present. This Group is for those interested in the history and genealogy of the name Swinfield. By using DNA testing, it is anticipated that the separate ancestral lines, constructed from the paper documentary sources, can be brought together into one or two pedigrees which include most of the surname bearers of the past four centuries.
