- Most Trimble-Turnbull men belong to haplogoup R-M269 which is the most common haplogroup in Western Europe
- A small group belong to haplogroup I-M253 which is associated with ancient Scandinavian origins
- Two Trimble men, who descend from Moses Trimble, have taken the BigY test and have established their own branch on the tree of mankind at R-BY34953
- Eight Turnbull men have taken the BigY test and have established their own branch on the tree of mankind at R-FT155105
- Two other men have taken the BigY test and have established a subclade of R-FT155105 at R-FT410198
- Haplogroup R-FT155105 represents a man who is estimated to have been born around 750 years ago, plus or minus 300 years. That corresponds to about 1250 CE with a 95% probability he was born between 980 and 1461 CE.
- Haplogroup R-FT410198 represents a man who is estimated to have been born around 750 years ago, plus or minus 450 years. That corresponds to about 1300 CE with a 95% probability he was born between 825 and 1619 CE.
- Haplogroup R-BY34935 represents a man who is estimated to have been born around 2,750 years ago, plus or minus 850 years. That corresponds to about 750 BCE with a 95% probability he was born between 1572 and 86 BCE.
