The Weir Family Project is open to all who are interested in working together to find their common heritage through sharing of information and dna testing. This project began as a yDNA study, but has expanded to include mtDNA and FamilyFinder results. All variant spellings are welcome. If your Surname is missing and should be included, we'll be glad to add it. Please be sure that you have entered your oldest known paternal and maternal ancestors along with their locations on your profile page so that their locations will show up on all FTDNA generated maps. Also, please upload your Gedcom if you have one available. This will allow your matches to see your lineage leading to your oldest known ancestor and allow FamilyFinder matches to locate possible ancestors in common with you. It is best if locations are included in your Gedcom as well. If you need help loading a Gedcom, please contact the administrators for help.
