Welcome to the Willing DNA Project. The project was set up in September 2008, and we have made some interesting discoveries.
The Y DNA test tells you about your direct male line, which would be your father, his father, and so on back in time. You must be male to take this test, and you should have the surname WILLING, WILLINGS or WILLIN. If you believe there is a WILLING, WILLINGS or WILLIN in your direct male line, although you have a different surname, you are also welcome to participate. If you have one of these surnames but believe that there is a different surname in your direct male line, you are also welcome to join the project. The Y DNA test can be a method of identifying your original family surname in that situation.
If you are female, you will need to ask a direct line male in your family tree, such as your father, brother, uncle or cousin, to participate and represent your tree.
