Our Wingo Family Genealogy usually starts with old John Wingo (died Amelia County VA 1755). We wish to find his ancestors and their ancestral home in Europe. This is best done using Y-chromosome (yDNA). We also wish to validate our existing Wingo Family genealogies and obtain guidance for future research. We are also interested in several other surnameswhich if not related to Wingo can be moved to another location. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) can also be helpful in working with female lines. At the present time and with the improvements being made in tools for examining the data autosomal DNA (atDNA) can be used to find our cousins within the USA and around the world. NOTE: Although DNA is a very good tool that can be used in doing genealogy it needs to be used in conjunction with good supporting paperwork.
