FAQ
Are we related descendants of the Revolutionary War and thus eligible for DAR and SAR? YES
The Big Y 700 Group Time tree displays the theoretical YDNA tester in a relation with other Youngbloods to a place in time. The groupings/branches are very similar to the results we got at 12 markers (PURPLE, BLUE and GRAY) and progressing to 37 markers where we distinguished (PURPLE, PURPLE/10 and PURPLE/35). This Big Y 700 is a new report using 111 markers and approximately 660 plus SNPs and will get better with time…and with more participants.

He served in the militia before and after the fall of Charleston. A.A. 8867; U 130/.
Siege of Charleston April 1, 1780–May 12, 1780
The Siege of Charleston was fought between the United States and Great Britain from April 1 to May 12, 1780, during the American Revolutionary War. British forces won the battle and captured thousands of Americans in the process. It was a major turning point in the American Revolutionary War.
We have two Abraham YBs currently to choose from. Abraham c1760 and Abraham c1769. I choose and expect Abraham c1760 son of Peter YB c1725-c1795 of GA before the Rev War and later Edgefield SC. Abraham YB c1760 is the brother of Jacob YB c1750 and the brother of Lewis YB c1748? Sons of Peter YB c1725-c95. It appears, Abraham had a brother John c1745 though there remains no solid proof…but see below as well. See the Group Time Tree. This is the top group on the graph with what believe is his cousins group Joshua YB c1766 as the second group. Joshua and Abraham c1769 are believed brothers. I do not have Abrahamc1760 Big Y 700 at this time, but he will be in the top group/branch on the Group Time Tree.
He served 535 days in the Horse Shoe Company of militia during 1781 and 1782 under Captain Peter Youngblood. He served 105 days as a Lieutenant A.A. 8868; O634
Note that this service is after the Siege and Fall of Charleston. Thus, confirming that this David is likely older than Abraham c1760. For now, since David is the brother of Peter YB c1745 below, I place his dob closer to c1750. This Peter Youngblood of Charleston is referred to as “Captain Peter”. This David died young in the 1793 time frame and is not the David YBc1782-1834 of Edgefield as some have confused. Capt. Peter served under Colonel John Sanders c1741 of Colleton District – a clue to that this is a Youngblood of the Charleston Community of SC. I do not have his Big Y 700 at this time but he will be in the bottom group/branch on the Group Time Tree…with his brother Peter c1745.
Isaac served as a private and as a Lieutenant in the militia under Captain Peter Youngblood during 1781 and 1782. A. A. 869 Q275; Y274
Note that this service is after the Siege and Fall of Charleston. Thus, this confirms that this David is likely older than Abraham c1760. For now, since Isaac is the brother of Peter YB c1745 and David c1750 below, I place his dob closer to c1750 as well. This Isaac died young in the 1791 time frame and is not the Isaac YB of GA post Rev War as some have confused. Peter c1745, David c1750, Isaac c1750 are sons of William c1725 - a son of Peter YBc1700. See Group time tree Above & Below as of 1/17/2025. All these relatively young men died of Yellow Fever/ Malaria living in coastal Charleston area after the war. I do not have his Big Y 700 at this time but he will be in the bottom group/branch along with brothers Peter and David on the Group Time Tree.
Born June 1750 in Chatham County North Carolina – 1839 Indiana.
Jacob first served in Georgia unit while residing in Georgia. Jacob enlisted and served under Captain John Ryan and Colonel Leroy Hammond. Jacob was an outpost guard under Captain Hatcher during the Battle of Stono after taking part in the siege of Augusta. He carried an express from General Pickens to General Greene. Part of his service was rendered as a private and part as a Sergeant. He was in an engagement with the Indians. Later, he moved to Indiana and is buried there A.A.870; U127 (A.A.6703 ).
This Jacob’s descendant set a path for us with YDNA as he had written a book linking his Jacob to John Miles YB c1708 line of Youngbloods in Johnston Co, NC. In his 90s, he took the YDNA tests and his YDNA did not match any descendant of John Miles YB. Some of you may note that my family book did as well imply a connection to John Miles YB and I did not match. His result also made us understand that there were 3 Peter YBs confused in many records. Peter c1732 son of Peter c1700, Peter c1745 son of William son of Peter YB c1700 and Peter YB c1725 son of an unknown Youngblood at this time. I do not have his Big Y 700 at this time, but he will be in the top group/branch on the Group Time Tree.
John served in the militia after the fall of Charleston. A.A. 8871; U 128
This John has been perplexing, and it is difficult to oppose the DAR. We have no clues about his birth date, place, location lived or wife or kids. For now, the best I have is seem to have enlisted on same day and paid as well, this is the best clue to this John that we have and that he is a son of Peter YB c1725. YDNA shows this John c1745 more closely related to Peter c1725 opposed to Peter YB c1732 and Peter c1700. A possible clue is that John married first a “Mary Catherine” and later had a wife Ann. Proof escapes me. I believe I have his Big Y 700 at this time and he will be in the top group/branch on the Group Time Tree.
*** Note *** The following two I believe are documented incorrectly linked to John Miles YB c1708…our GREEN YDNA family. It is my belief these are PURPLE…note Abraham J YB.
DAR has a John YB JR
Born 10-17-1734 BALTIMORE CO MARYLAND
Died after 8-8-1801 COLUMBIA CO GEORGIA
admitted to DAR by child Abraham J YB c1769 “son”. The YDNA of these two men do not match. Abraham was the son of a John YB but he was born in Baltimore, MD.
*** Note ***
DAR has a John YB SR
Born 10-31-1708 BALTIMORE CO MARYLAND
Died after 1784 COLUMBIA CO GEORGIA
admitted to DAR by child Henry Miles YB “son”. The YDNA of Henry and John JR do not match the Abraham was the son of a John YB but he was not born inf Baltimore, MD and not the son of John Jr c1734 or the grandson of John Sr c1708…aka not John Miles YB c1708.
c1756-1835 R 11978 wife Margaret, second Mary
Joseph served in the militia as a private and Lieutenant after the fall of Charleston. AA8872; U151.
This Joseph is the son of Peter YB c1732-88 with brothers Samuel c1754-c1812 and Lewis c1760-1808. This Lewis is not the Lewis below. Note that the death dates are well documented allowing us this confirmation of two Lewis Youngbloods with different kids. Many internet trees have these men merged.
There is much online documentation on this Joseph Youngblood. *** Note***Bartlett Youngblood
Joseph Youngblood – Revolutionary War Soldier | Youngblood-Family.com - See Bartlett display
I do not have his Big Y 700 at this time, but Joseph will be in the bottom group/branch on the Group Time Tree…as we have his believed brother Samuel c1754-1812.
While residing in the 96th district, he served in the militia after the fall of Charleston A.A. 8873A; U129.
This Lewis Youngbloodc1748 is the son of Peter youngblood circa 1725-c95 not to be confused with Lewis Youngbloodc1756-c1808 son of Peter youngblood c1732-88. This Lewis is not the brother of Joseph YBc1756 above. This remains a concern to some. I do not have this Lewis c1748 Big Y 700 at this time, but he will be in the top group/branch on the Group Time Tree.
Peter served as a captain in the militia during 1780, 1781 and 1782. N 441; Y 304.
This Peter was part of the grand genealogical confusion of the 3 Peter Youngbloods in the Colonial and Revolutionary War timeframe.
This Peterc1745 died c1794 in Charleston, SC; Peter c1732 died in c1788 of Edgefield and Barnwell; Peter YB c1725-c1795 of Edgefield. I have his Big Y 700 at this time, and he is in the bottom group/branch on the Group Time Tree…he is the son of William c1720 of Peter c1700. He is the brother of David YB c1750 and Isaac YB above.
Samuel Youngblood c1754-1812
Samuel served in the militia after the fall of Charleston. AA 8873A; S157
Samuel, we have well documented by a letter written by his son, John Wilson Youngblood- wife, sons and daughters...many moved to Indiana. Son of Peter YB c1732 of Peter c1700, we have his Big Y 700 and is shown in the bottom group/branch on the Group Time Tree.
*** Note *** Peter YB c1732-88 is flagged in red as follows:
YOUNGBLOOD, PETER Ancestor #: A130301
Notice: FUTURE APPLICANTS MUST PROVE CORRECT SERVICE (WHY?)
Birth: 1732 Death: ANTE 10-25-1788 RICHMOND CO GEORGIA
1) THIS MAN DID NOT
RECEIVE BOUNTY LAND FOR GA SERVICE.
[True-We have found no such evidence as well, but his sons are Rev War and thus his grandson Bartett c1799 is a correct connect to Rev War]
2) FAMPCL-THE PARENTAGE
OF BARTLEY IS NOT PROVEN. SEE DATACF 6/2014.
[Bartley aka Bartlett Youngblood has been proven as the son of Joseph YB Patriot above. The applicant submitted through Bartlettc1799 as the son of Peter and just petitioned by Peter c1732 rather than correctly by Joseph c1756 above. Thus, Peter YB c1732 was not a Patriot who served but his sons Samuel and Joseph did. Son Lewis? Not proven…confused with other Lewis?]

Johannes continues to evade finding if he is YDNA related to the rest of the Patriot Youngbloods herein. I have not found a YDNA receptive test participant. I and other Youngbloods above have tantalizing small autosomal dna shares that suggest a relationship, but not enough to be provable by male patriarch. The only other hints are from my family book discussing visiting relatives in “New York” and the family lore that we also came from Palatinate.
