This DNA Project is dedicated to research on Alexander Stewart (R-Z17581) “The Wolf of Badenoch”, son of Robert II, King of Scots. To accomplish this task, the focus of the project is on King Robert II’s DNA lines down through his male descendants and their Haplogroups/Sub Clades, i.e. R-Z38845, R-FTT47, R-Z17582, R-A8328, R-Z17581, R-FTD95546, R-A8327, R-FT135122, R-FT342030, R-FT333465, R-Z43064, R-Y15896, R-BY11982, R-BY11983, R-Y48486, R-BY11979, R-A8325, R-Y56398, R-A8321 or other undiscovered Haplogroups/Sub Clades. This project is proudly open to all of Robert II’s, King of Scots, male descendants matching any of the above named Haplogroups and Sub clades or any other undiscovered Haplogroup or Sub Clade linked by DNA regardless of surname. Some other surnames that test positive for these Haplogroups/Sub Clades, include Laing, Robertson, Pearce, Teer, Murray, Monteith, Sands, Campbell, Smith, Cooper, Kerr, and Bryson, to name a few. There will certainly be others as use of surnames just came into existence approximately 900 years ago. An exception to the open join rule above is Ancient Haplogroups of R-L744, R-L745, R-L746, R-Y138948, R-FGC34909 and associated Sub Clades. This project also assists other genetic research entities with funding of DNA kits for research into the above named Haplogroups and Sub Clades. We are actively involved in the research of family and historical genealogies. The project is intended to help members work together to find their common ancestor through DNA testing and the sharing of genealogy research. The results of DNA testing will act as an aid to genealogy research. Where conflict arising from family genealogies and DNA testing results occur, the DNA testing results will be used to eliminate brick walls and false pathways. The testing of one’s DNA is a new and expanding field of Genetic Genealogy. Within this field new discoveries are made constantly. When one combines these discoveries with family and historical genealogy the impact is even greater. The administrators of this project strive to find the newest developments in DNA concerning our lines and others. The words “Our lines” are used here since all the Administrators have a vested interest in the lines. They themselves are descendants of this line or have a family relation to it. But what is more important is that they all volunteer to help find your family lines. Based on current DNA finds/results and family genealogies, we believe the above Haplogroups/Sub Clades are descendants of Alexander Stewart, The Wolf of Badenoch.
