The Austin Families Association of America (AFAOA), an organization of Austin family researchers, maintains this project. The project seeks to find common heritage through sharing of family information and DNA testing. All variant spellings are welcome. Individuals fund most DNA tests, but some are funded by private donations to the Austin-Austen DNA Project General Fund http://www.familytreedna.com/public/austin-austenfamilydna' . To find out about possible free Y-DNA testing sign onto afaoa.org and read under 'DNA tests'. We want to profile as many documented Austin lines as possible via Y-DNA37, Y-DNA111 or Big-Y testing.
