About us
The Chapman DNA project is sponsored by the Chapman Family Association (CFA) (www.chapmanfamilies.org) and is provided under the auspices of FamilyTreeDNA. Established in the early 1990’s, the CFA was formed to be a focal point for genealogists researching Chapman family lines. In 1994, the association was incorporated and today has over 700 members. As genetic testing was coming of age, Dan Chapman (deceased) of the CFA, began tracking genealogically oriented genetic testing development, and in 2004 the Chapman Y-DNA Project was established. The project grew and with the incorporation of Mitochondrial and Autosomal testing, the project now encompasses more than 500 members.
