The Project is dedicated to the Levantine "Daou" family & members of other family surnames with oral traditions tracing their respective lineage (via direct patrilineal line) to the "Daou" family. The project also welcomes members who have close Y-DNA genetic matches with any of the "Daou" family members in our project. By joining, the project members give their unconditional consent to the project administrator(s) to join them to relevant FTDNA projects as well as to request further DNA tests for them whenever deemed necessary to help in identifying their particular lineage & terminal haplogroup. For the results to be meaningful, prospective members are encouraged to take at least the Y-DNA 37 STR markers test. Further upgrades to higher resolution STR tests (Y67,Y111) can be ordered anytime later using the same DNA sample.
