This group project is focused on particular subclades of E-V13, attempting to trace our ancestral migration from the Balkans to Swabia, perhaps in the person of a member of the Roman Legions or their auxiliaries. It reflects work done by the members prior to February 2023 related to the “E-V13 Balkan/Swiss/UK” Project Group. That group rightly includes discussion of many related haplogroups with evidence of migration to Swabia as well as to Switzerland and the UK, however we take a deeper dive into our particular subclades of E-V13 with our members predominately referencing their earliest male-lineage ancestors to the old territory of Swabia.

For those that might be curious, the banner for the project site (above) is taken from a photo of an unidentified village in the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) in the current German state of Baden-Württemberg where most of our E-BY165986 ancestors lived and from where they so often emigrated.
