About us
The goals of this Y-DNA project are:
1) To further confirm the historical records of Baldwin Lunsford's patrimony for both his Anna Ball and Judith Creel family lines.
2) To provide a genetic basis for connecting our clan to other Lunceford/Lunsford families in Virginia, the US and beyond.
Our line's Y-chromosome currently is designated as haplogroup I1; terminal public SNP FT16446 (I1-FT16446*). This was recently confirmed for one member of our group via BigY700 analysis and is direct sequence confirmation of previous STR and SNP panel analyses carried out by the YSeq DNA Shop. We also have YSeq confirmation (alpha panel and individual SNP tests) on both a first cousin and second cousin to the BigY700 tester.
Recent BigY700 analyses of one member of our line revealed the following private SNPs specific to our family: FT115266; FT117124; FT118443; FT119515 all of which are available in the YSEQ catalog. Click on the "Results" tab above to get the latest on this SNP validation project.
