DNA scholarships now available to males with Hillman or Illman paternal lines.

The “Hillmans of Sussex” group at FamilyTreeDNA are offering scholarships to complete Y DNA tests to Hillmans or Illmans whose paternal line ancestors hail from Sussex, England.  The results of the test would remain personal property of the tester. 

The three admins of the group have taken Y DNA tests and they all fall within the haplogroup I-FTC36257 which FamilyTreeDNA’s algorithm dates to 1750 AD and which corresponds well to their common ancestor, James Illman (1764-1835) of West Grinstead, Sussex.  If you, or someone you know, has Hillman or Illman lineage from Sussex, please contact Mori Hillman directly at mori_hillman@hotmail.com
