About us
Seven Lampert men have been tested to date (5/2013), all with a paper trail leading to Fläsch, Switz and surrounding areas (Chur, Switz) in the mid 1700's. Definite kinship has been genetically proven even though the records prior to 1822 are lacking due to a fire in Fläsch. All are of haplogroup I2b1 (shorthand I-M223) with likely lineage roots in Northern France. Today haplogroup I2b1 is found most frequently within Viking/Scandinavian populations in Northwest Europe. Three additional men with non-Lampert surnames (Timmerman/Zimmerman/Carpenter) have also proven related to the Lamperts though more distantly.
