This project is for those who are interested in researching relationships and connections between MATHIA, MATTHIA, MATHEA, MATEJ, MATHYA, MATHYA, MATHYIA, MATIA, MATIJA, MATYA, MATYJA, MATTHIAE (plus spellings that include gender suffixes like "OWNA" and "OWA") surname holders. With DNA testing we want to find connections between individual patriarchs and their descendants as well as focus on their geographic origins. No matter what the spelling, we invite at least 1-2 male from each family line to have the Y-chromosome tested and participate in the project. We also invite males of different surnames who have a common ancestor within the last few hundred years with one of the Mat(t)hia surname holders. Please remember to include information about your oldest known ancestors!
