Welcome to the Moyriesk and Rathclooney project. We aim to utilise autosomal, Y-DNA and mtDNA results (when appropriate) to connect family groups from the townlands of Moyriesk and Rathclooney in County Clare, Ireland. Key surnames of interest include McNamara/MacNamara, Sweeney, Hanrahan, Enright, Hehir, O'Connell, O'Donnell, McInerney and McMahon/Mahon. Members must be able to trace their lineage back to one of these townlands or the parishes of Clooney, Doora, Drumcliff, Kilraghtis, Tulla, Quin or Ruan. Members will not be accepted unless they provide the name, estimated dates and location for their oldest known ancestor from the region.
