The Nix Surname DNA project was established in August of 2004. Our purpose is to use DNA testing of male Nixes to determine which Nix family lines are related to one another and which are not. The project is also open to male Nicks family members as well. We hope to use the exciting new possibilities that genetic evidence provide, coupled with traditional family tree research, to shed light on the ancestoral origins and kinship of individuals with the Nix and Nicks last names in ways that written records alone could never do.
