About Pryor Y-DNA Results

The first result members can expect is placement in a Haplogroup genetic family. The Haplogroup reflects the most distant origins of related tests and reflect general geographic origins of the group, such as Scandinavia, the Middle East, or the British Isles. FTDNA colour codes Haplogroup numbers: green means proved, red means estimated.

When testing is complete the group administrator places the test in indicated Haplogroup. The test will appear near the closest matching test results.

Test owners can further explore relationships between matching kits by logging into their FTDNA account. The MATCHES button will allow the user to view matching kits at 12, 25, 37, 67, and 111 markers.

What Is A Y-DNA Match?

FTDNA suggests the lowest level of testing to show a relationship is the 67-marker test. This does NOT mean that test that match on just 67 markers are related, as it should also match on 12, 25, 37, and 67 markers. Researchers within this project are using 111 marker kits to clarify relationships. If you previously tested on a lesser level of markers, you can order an upgrade without usually having to re-test.

What is "Ungrouped-Reviewed"?

The Y-DNA kits in this group have been reviewed. There are several reason that these kits remain ungrouped: they may be awaiting another matching testers, they do not match any other testers on all levels of markers, they've tested at 12 markers and a relationship match can't be determined through this level of testing, the tester knows they are not related to a Pryor male. Please do not assume they are related or unrelated, you may be the tester they are waiting for!

Contacting Matches
