This project was born out of the need for a scientific approach to ascertain the connections between the disparate clusters of RAINS families found in various regions of Great Britain.

As paper-trail genealogy is not a viable methodology in many genealogical cases due to lost or destroyed documents, or the fact that paper records never existed in the first place, DNA testing, genetic genealogy, is providing researchers with a valuable tool to look at the deep past and to also scientifically verify connections that have a paper documentation.
