About us

Remember that since females are not eligible for the YDNA testing, there are many lines that no longer have any male descendants in a specific branch. If you are a male that descends from any of the lines listed below, it would really help out if you would consider participating:

Descendants of John Sharp Rowland, GA
Descendants of the following Rowland's from Pennsylvania: Thomas Rowland b. 1871, his son Thomas Lewis Rowland b abt 1905, or son Edmund B b. 1893 or grandson Edmund J. b abt 1920 or others in this line.

Descendants of the Peter Hairston Rowland line

William Rowland b. Wales 1863
sons: 1)Thomas b. 1886 PA
2) John b. 1888 PA
a. his son George G. b abt1910 PA
3) William b. 1893 PA
a. his son John b abt 1926 PA
4) George Herbert b. 1895 PA died 1981
a. his son Robert E. b. 1921
b. his son George
or any others related to these lines

Any from the Robeson Co, NC Rowland's.
Any from the Reuben Rowland line of KY

And of course, we always need Rowland/Roland's (any spelling) from outside the USA, esp. Great Britian, Germany, etc
Please contact the administrator if you have any interest in helping these researchers by participating. If you would like to make a contribution towards the test for a particular line, please see the General Fund Donation link.

Thanks to the sponsor of the test for the representative of the colonial Surry/Sussex Co VA line. This gives us a representative of 2 of the major early VA lines for which there is good documentation!

25 Sept 2005 Received the following info from a Rowland(s) fellow in North Wales...he gave me permission to share it in hopes that it may help someone!
"I noticed from the Rowland website, that you are looking for anyone with that name from Great Britain. I was born in Anglesey, North Wales, and although my family name is now Rowlands, according to my grandfather’s birth certificate, I should rightly be a Rowland ( He was born John Rowland, but died John Rowlands) In addition, my great great grandfather married the daughter of Owen Rowland who emigrated to America in 1848 and whose family settled and established a dairy business in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
