- 2008:
- Sep 19, 2008: 6th kit ordered, from the line of the Peruvian branch of George Anderson RUNCIMAN, great grandson of James and Agnes (HERIOT) RUNCIMAN.
- Aug 29, 2008: 5th kit ordered, from the line of Thomas & Isabella (LINTON) RUNCIMAN, Thomas son of James and Agnes (HERIOT) RUNCIMAN
- Aug 4, 2008: upgrades from 37 to 67 markers ordered for the Wanton Walls lines to see what that might tell us about closeness of relationship. Still looking for representative of the other Michigan branch believed to be related (James RUNCIMAN and Isabella CARTER).
- 29 Aug: 5th kit ordered
- 5 Apr: Full 37 marker results back for the descendant of James RUNCIMAN and Agnes HERRIOT via their son George who emigrated to New Zealand in 1851. And yes, there is a very good match, 36/37 markers, with the descendant of James RUNCIMAN and Janet HOG. This nicely dovetails with the recent theory that this latter James (born c 1792 Selkirk, Scotland, and emigrated to New York, thence to Canada, is the one that the NZ branch of RUNCIMANs had noted in the family bible as James, 1791, with a mention of Ohio, but had no further information.
- 28 Jan: Final results back for the descendant of William & Mary (BROWN) RUNCIMAN from Lauder. Full 37 out of 37 marker match with the descendant of the family of Wanton Walls, if only we knew how!
- 25 Jan: 3rd kit results (12 marker only) back, that of James and Janet (HOG) RUNCIMAN of Selkirk. Not a match with that of the Wanton Walls family.
- 24 Jan: 12/12 match between the Wanton Walls descendant and the Michigan descendant of William RUNCIMAN.
- 14 Jan: Full 37 marker results back on first kit. No matches 35 or more out of 37 markers.
- 9 Jan: First (12 marker) results back, no 12/12 match with any other person tested with FamilyTree DNA.
- 4 Jan: Fourth kit ordered, for a descendant of the family of James RUNCIMAN and Agnes HERRIOT of Atyon & Dunbar, Scotland.
