About us
This DNA project is open to anyone with the surname Ryan or any of its possible variants, including Mulryan, Ruane, Rian, etc.
The primary goal of this project is to help members identify to which genetic family they belong in order to facilitate and encourage collaboration between members in their genealogical research. Such research will help benefit the entire group by shedding light on the origins, distribution, and history of the Ryan surname throughout the world.
The results so far and the various genetic groups identified can be seen on our Results Page here.
This project is complemented by a dedicated Ryan DNA Project blog/website and a very active Ryan Genealogy Forum group on Facebook. There is also an Activity feed where project members can chat and share information.
