About us
The Schneider (and variants) project is focused on Y-DNA testing, but Family Finder testers are also welcome even though nothing is done with the results.
Y-DNA participation requires that a male family member still carrying the Schneider (or variant) surname must donate the DNA. It is highly recommended that participants get at minimum the 37 marker test. Depending on the nature of your results (if you have "common" DNA markers), it may be recommended that you upgrade to 67 marker to narrow down your matches to meaningful ones.
mtDNA donors with Schneider in their maternal bloodline should consider joining the Germany-mtDNA project.
Please feel free to e-mail with any questions regarding joining the project. Thanks for your interest!
