Stevenson Project – Pedigrees
The following basic lineages have been supplied by project members, identified here by kit numbers.
Each lineage begins with the earliest known ancestor (EKA) in bold.
Most show birth, death, and marriage data for ancestors as recent as the test taker’s grandfather.
If you would like to contact a project member about their information listed here, please email us and we will forward your message.
Currently, testers from three higher-level haplogroups have supplied their pedigrees: I-M253, I-M223, and R-M269.
Tests that are known or believed to share a common ancestor are grouped together.
If you have additions or corrections to the information shown here, please contact our project administrator with your updates.
Like many surnames, the Stevenson name and its many variants were adopted independently by different families as surnames came into general use during or just following the late Medieval period.
For our project, this means that many Stevensons might be more closely related to men of different surnames than they are to other Stevensons.
Currently, our project has more than a dozen family groups that are not related to each other in the past 1000 years or so.
A project goal is to define as many of those groups as possible and link them to a patriarch/common ancestor.
