On 13 July 2006, the separate Sutton-Dudley DNA Project was merged into the Sutton DNA Project.   There is also a separate Dudley project for those who do not fit the Sutton-Dudley family..

On 01 January 2014 the National Society of the Daughters of the Revolution (DAR) began accepting paternal Y-DNA results as part of the source documentation research package to help prove heritage to a Revolutionary War Patriot. The DAR joined with the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) in accepting DNA towards linear proof.
