DNA results of participants in this international project have revealed a number of different Sutton lines.  These family lines are found in Australia, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa, Syria and the United States.  These paternal lines fall within the population Haplogroups E1b1 (formerly E3), G, I, O, R1a and R1b. The project has identified a number of DNA families including the large:   George Sutton/Sarah Tilden family; William Sutton/Damaris Bishop family; Sutton-Dudley family.  The project also has a number of families whose true patriarch has not been determined.  With additional DNA testing we hope to identify these patriarchs.
