FAMILY LINEAGES
[NOTE: The lineages below display correctly when using Google's Chrome browser and Apple's Safari browser, but other browsers may misalign the descendants. If this happens on your computer, download and try one of the two browsers mentioned.]
Project members sometimes, but not always, provide their pedigree back to their oldest known male-line ancestor. Lineages for some of the families represented in this project are shown below, along with other families not currently represented in the Y-DNA results, but having interested researchers hoping to eventually see test results from someone from their lineage.
Each family lineage includes the earliest known Tate male-line ancestor and some, but not all, of their descendants. Not all of the many Tate/Tait/Teate/etc families are shown, however more will be added as information about other families is provided.
The term “Lineage” when used alongside the haplogroup identifier, such as “R1b Lineage 1”, refers to those having an established common ancestor to other members of the lineage, as well as to those having an apparent common ancestor based on Y-DNA matching.
Due to current privacy regulations, the names and email addresses of researchers in a lineage, which were formerly shown beside their most recent ancestor, have been removed. However the FTDNA kit numbers of project members are provided to help identify members in the Y-DNA Results tables and mutations in a particular family line.
