May 26 2017: Project reaches 290 members with the merger of people from the Welch surname project.

Jan 01 2017: Project has over 220 members.

Jan 2016: The decision is made to merge the Welch and Walsh surname projects and rename it the Walsh-Welch-Welsh surname project. It was found that various spellings of these names are used by our families. If you have any variant of this surname please join.
There is some confusion about if people that are of Welsh descent but not a variant of this surname. This is a surname project, not a general project for people of Welsh descent. There is a Wales DNA project available for that
