l or similar - the Convict Indent gives her married name as Lynchey born C 1785 probably in CountyDown; died 15 June 1860 Chippendale, NSW, Australia; married possibly Michael Lynchey in County Down. Sarah and a son Thomas were tried at Castle Rushen on the Isle of Man and sentenced to 14 years for stealing from a house, by this time Sarah was a widow with at least 4 dependent children. Sarah arrived in Sydney on the ‘MaryIII’ on 06 Sep 1835 accompanied by 2 daughters and a son, the Home Secretary, Lord Melbourne, in a letter to the governor of the Isle of Man gave permission for Sarah to be accompanied by daughters up to the age of 12 and sons up to the age of 8.

George Dudley was an emancipated convict having been sentenced to 7 years at the Old Bailey in1819 for pickpocketing on the Strand and had arrived in Sydney on the HMS ‘CoramandelI’ on 04 Apr 1820.
