About us

This point we have three distinct families of Dellinger's. Those three separate lines are: The Dellinger's of western Virginia, headed by Johann Georg Döllinger The Dellinger's who immigrated from Bavaria to Ohio headed by George Dellinger The Dellinger's of Oberacker, which can be further divided into:
  • The Dellinger's of York Co., Pennsylvania headed by Johan Jacob Dellinger
  • The Dellinger's of North Carolina, headed by three brothers: Hans Martin, Johannes Philipp, and Johann Valentin
  • The Dellinger's of North Carolina and then Knox Co., Indiana, headed by William Dellinger
  • The descendants of Indian Creek George Dellinger, of North Carolina.
DNA results indicate that the various lines of the Dellinger's of Oberacker are related to one another. That is corroborated by previous research which discovered that Jacob Dellinger who immigrated to York Co., PA is a first cousin to the three brothers who immigrated to North Carolina. The DNA results also seem to indicate that the Dellinger's of Oberacker are not related to either the Dellinger's of Virginia or the Dellinger's who immigrated from Bavaria to Ohio in 1845. And neither of the Dellinger's of Virginia or the Dellinger's of Bavaria appear to be related to one another.
