About us
Early Texans DNA Project - Texas State Genealogical Society (TxStateGS on Family Tree DNA, TxSGS elsewhere)
Project Participation
The Early Texans DNA Project was conceived in 2015 and thanks to Debbie Parker Wayne the first Project Administrator. The project began accepting members in 2016. As of November 2022 we have 870 members
- over 400 members have taken autosomal DNA tests (Family Finder at Family Tree DNA or tests at AncestryDNA or 23andMe that have been transferred to Family Tree DNA)
- almost 300 members have taken Y-DNA STR tests (Y-37 to Y-111)
- almost 100 members have taken Y-DNA SNP tests (BigY)
- over 300 members have taken mtDNA tests
The project is a geographically-oriented project focused on analyzing the DNA of those with ancestors who settled in Texas before 31 December 1900.
