The O'Shea yDNA Surname Project aims to help O'Shea families to find their O'Shea roots in Ireland and their O'Shea male line connections, through yDNA.

The project is also working to understand the structure of O'Shea male lineages, using the Big Y-700.

Males only have yDNA so if there is a male in your family with an O'Shea paternal line (O'Shea father, grandfather, great grandfather etc.) then why not order a yDNA kit and have him to do that mouth swab and join the project. Please contact any of the three voluntary administrators of the project, if you have any questions. Note surname variants are also welcome: Shea, Shee, McShea, Shay etc.
