St George surname variants originate from many places: France, Quebec, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Hungary, and others. To complicate matters there are spelling variations, name changes, and French Canadian dit names such as Laporte dit St-Georges and St-Jores dit Sergerie. This Y-DNA focused surname project is working to establish Y-chromosome markers for all St George lines worldwide, and to perhaps find surprising relationships between some of these St George ancestors.
